Beauty Tip of the Month
One feature on a woman's face that is often overlooked that adds greatly to a woman's attractiveness are her lips. How gorgeous and feminine a female becomes when her lips take centre stage! Think of Marilyn Monroes's gorgeous red lips in, "Some Like It Hot," Julia Roberts's full smile in, "Pretty Woman," and Angelina Jolie in... well... Angelina Jolie everyday of the week! All of these women have lips to die for, but that is not to say that if you are not genetically blessed with a full set of lips that you should ignore or overlook this very important feature. In fact, no woman should underestimate the power of a well maintained and tinted pout.
Maintenance
The first step towards a fabulous pout is maintenance. Exfoliation of the lips is extremely important. It has the same effect that exfoliation of the skin has on the face and body. It removes dead skin cells, brings newer, healthier looking skin to the surface, encourages blood circulation just below the skin (allowing for a natural flush of color), and allows for a smooth application of any lip product.
To exfoliate your lips safely, skip rough, sandy scurbs that you may typically use on the face and body. Try using either your toothbrush to brush your lips after you've finished brushing your teeth; or, use your wet washcloth to gently rub your lips free of dead skin after you've finished your daily shower. Be sure to apply a very good chapstick immediately afterwards to maximize the benefits of exfoliation. Two of my favorites are Lip Medex by Blistex, and Lip Protectant Intense Lip Therapy by Aveeno. Both can be found at your local pharmacy and or department store. The combination of exfoliation and utilizing a good chapstick will do wonders for the texture of your lips and it's healthy appearance.
Color
The second step towards a fabulous pout is color. For those who are more natural and low key, pick a color that is one to two shades darker than your natural lip color. This will add a subtle intensity to your mouth that will fool people into thinking your blessed with naturally beautiful lips. If your a gal with an adventurous side, select a color that screams for attention: a scarlett red or deep wine in a matte or creamy formula will evoke a sense of empowerment and dominance. Women who wear strong lip colors exude confidence. Finally, if you bode on the sensual side of the spectrum, pick a color that is nude in a glossy formula. This soft but juicy selction is sexually enticing but yet delicate enough to imply a youthful innocence. It's effortless, sexy, and just tempts fate for a passionate kiss.
With easy maintenance, and so many different ways to decorate your lips, you should be able to make peace with what you're born with and learn to work your natual gifts to their maximum potential. Whether your lips are full or thin, uneven or perfectly paired, do not ignore the power of a well maintained pout- it is achievable for every woman every where.
